My exchange partner is Sarah.
We have already spoken three times. We had some problems getting video chat because of jet lag, or the time change but we always managed to talk.
At the begining, she didn't dare to speak French because she thinks her french is bad, but now she is trying more and more to speak french. Her french is not so bad, I think it is good.
We talked about our family and our native country. Her father lives in Mission Viejo, it is a suburb with only families. She has a younger brother. She is studying English and politics science in Irvine. She is roommate with friends.
What surprised me the most is the cost of tuition in America. The difference is huge between America and France. Compare to them we pay nothing for school.
In order to pay her tuition, she had a job at starbucks last year (she made coffee), this year she is working at the University, it is a complex job, hard to explain, nobody understand what she is doing.
It is really great to talk with Sarah,. We talk for an hour but it goes very quickly, we laugh a lot.
