Conversation with Justin

Hi everybody,

I already talked three times with Justin. We usually talk on Sundays at 8 pm when it's the morning in California because of the time difference.

During our first chat, we talked around one hour and half. Justin learns journalism and economy but he prefers journalism even if journalists earn less money than economists. He said that it was difficult to become a reporter because, journalism is becoming commonplace because everyone can write on the internet and newspapers are fewer than before.

 Justin confirmed that school was most expensive in America than in France, that is why students have often to find a job during their studies if their parents can't help them. In France students having a job are fewer than those who have their parents paying school.

Justin told me that his father is living in New York, where he can find the best pizzas of USA ;) and I think his mother is in Minnesota (but I am not sure I remember well.) We talked about stereotypes, and he told me that I could tell him easily because he is just a half American ! :D I think he cannot see his parents often because distances in America are longer than in France, but he lives with roommates and I think they have fun.

We both like sports and specially NBA. But it's hard for me to see games on TV because games are on paying channels. Justin plays basketball with his friends whose sometimes name him Steve Nash ! 

 

 Justin told me that rugby was not a famous sport in USA, I knew it but I thought that interest for this sport was growing. But Americans prefer football, baseball or basketball. Justin showed me that he has a lot of basketball jerseys.

 

We talked about films we have seen each other, and Justin told me that he has seen “Amélie” which is named “Amélie Poulain” over here, and “La vie en rose” which is named “La Môme” because it was Edith Piaf’s nickname. Justin thinks that Marion Cotillard is a good actress, and French people are proud of her because few French actors are famous in America.

Justin also told me that is neighbor is Lie to Me main actor, and I wonder how it is to know a star !

 We could not talk last Sunday, because I was in the train coming back from a family meeting, I can’t wait on next Sunday chatting again !
