First conversation with Ting.

   Ting and I have talked for 2 hours and a half. First we talked in English and then in French. She was a bit nervous about speaking in French, but her French is quite good.

   She comes from Taiwan. She went to the U.S. when she was 15. She went to high school in Boston. She has practised English since she was young. She only speaks Mandarin and Taiwanese when she is surrounded by her family. She has travelled in many countries such as : Japan, Mexico for instances.
She loves music and plays guitare. She took courses in Taiwan to improve her skills but she didn’t have the chance to take courses in the U.S.  yet.

   She has two sisters : an older sister and a younger one. Her big sister is currently studying in New York and her little one is still living in Taiwan with her parents. She flies back to Taiwan just for the summer holidays. Even if she loves living in the United States, she misses a lot her family.

   Ting likes sciences: especially biology and chemistry but she dislikes physics. She is currently studying economy. However she told me that she wanted to major in chemistry or biology but she thought it would take too much of her free time.
We also talked about our plans for the future. Unfortunately we both don’t know what specific jobs we would like to do but we still have time to figure it out. She told me that even if she is studying economy, she is still not sure whether or not she would like to be working in this field.
